Dog Fence Additional Wire Chart

Unless otherwise stated, all dog containment systems come with 150 metres of boundary wire. If you need to cover a larger area, you will need to add extra boundary kits to your dog fence. Each additional boundary kit comes with 150m of wire, 50 training flags and wire joiners. Use the table below to determine how much wire you need for your property.

*Please note: This figure represents the number of extra boundary kits on top of the 150m that is included with most containment systems. Check the wire included with the system that you are purchasing and make any necessary adjustments. If you are moving an existing system to another property and need to rewire the new property, you will need to add one extra kit to the total number.

The calculations in the guide above are based on a standard containment fence layout (running the wire in a single loop around the entire property). If you need to create internal zones around gardens, dams, chook pens, pool areas etc., you will need to add more wire to the fence. You'll also need to consider the length of the lead-out wire. The lead-out wire is the length of wire that runs out from your transmitter out to the boundary edge. If you have any questions about your property layout, feel free to give us a call on 0800 144 869.
